Short Break

We're leaving for our annual 7 day camping trip very soon.
I will be back after 4th of July with a large post documenting our vacation, so stay tuned!

New Car!

I found it on craigslist about a month ago and we left a deposit right away. We got a great deal, way under blue book value. Bryan sold his car last week, and we bought this one today. Bryan is on cloud 9. We both like Mustangs. ;)

And my roses are blooming!

Bad News Boys Part 2

Today at T-Ball. I didn't get a good position among the 100's of photo snapping moms for good pics, but here they are before practice.

Taking a break from Grandma's pool to play more baseball, of course!

Pool man in training

Great Grandma, pruning her willow.

For today, we went to T-Ball then swimming at Great Grandma's all afternoon.

Bad News Baseball Boys

This week we started a summer T-Ball league.
Rylan was excited because he got to be on a real team (he was too young for Brayden's spring league). Its twice a week, starting with practice drills only. Games begin in July. They are anxiously waiting for their new team shirts.

Bray in the yellow shirt. I over heard two moms "gossiping" today about how some mom's must sign up their 7 year olds, because there's really big kids this year.

These were taken Monday.

TIMBER!

Brayden invited a friend to join us at the Grapeville Park today to practice baseball. They had fun!

While we were gone, Bryan cut more trees down in our patch of woods. We hope to get some more down, but will need help, they are tall and can easily reach the house! Yikes! Its nice to have a bigger yard and more room (but mostly we needed to get rid of the poison ivy vines growing along the trees).
I got some video of the first tree coming down, and I'll post it when he gets it uploaded.

2 of our tadpoles have absorbed their tails.. They are now FROGS! They are FAST, too!

And just because it was really funny, here's a car smashed up on the side, fixed with duct tape, of course! Bryan offered to drive up closer for a better pic, but I didn't want the owner of the car to be even more embarrassed. Or wonder why some weird-o was taking pictures in a rainstorm.

River City Brass Band

Greensburg holds a free "Summer Sounds" summer concert series at local parks.
Last night we went to see River City Brass Band. You can learn more about them here: www.rcbb.com.

There were thunderstorms most of the afternoon, so we weren't sure we'd be able to go, but the sky cleared right over St. Clair Park for the concert!

The kids had a good time, they both enjoy live music and crowds. They brought their baseball mitts and ball of course and quickly made friends with the other kids to play. We met Great Grandma there, too! She had fun as well. Bryan was bored, so I spent most of my time asking him to stop complaining! We left during intermission, but I was able to get some pictures.

For more information of the Summer Sounds series, schedule and band info, you can go here: www.summersounds.com.

There was a HUGE crowd last night!

Great Grandma, enjoying the show!

This Week's CSA

Some people have asked what our weekly share holds, so I took a picture Thursday after bringing it home.

This week we received:
2 different types of lettuce
collard greens
Garlic greens (or scapes)
snap peas (not shown- under lettuce)
radishes
Cilantro
strawberries

Catching Up

At Idlewild on Tuesday, Brayden volunteered at a crooked mine shack. He was so excited.

There was a beautiful bright sunset this evening as we got home from the Y. I tried to get it in the background with the kids sitting on the back deck rail, but it was hard to capture. Excuse the kid's dirty shirts. It was Farm Day, and we spent a couple of hours at the Nature reserve as well.

We won a raffle!

Our local grocery store has free childcare. Its a nice big playroom full of toys and crafts. We stopped in on Friday, and while waiting for the attendant to copy my driver license, I saw large box full of raffle entries. I took a few seconds to drop in a piece of paper with my name and phone number, and forgot about it.... until Sunday night when we checked our answering machine. We won a "Circus Basket". There is a TON of stuff in it. Water balloons, clown noses, whoopee cushion, serving tray, plates, bowls, cups, straws, orange soda, pudding, pringles, animal cookies, granola bars, popcorn, movie theater popcorn boxes, fruit snacks, and I can still list more...!

Its good timing, because we are headed back out to Idlewild today with friends, now I don't need to pack snacks! ;)
