Poopy Girl

Our dogs are the cool kids of the neighborhood. The other dogs roam into our yard to hang out and do doggie stuff. Chloe is their best friend who lives next door. A beautiful Golden. Every morning at approximately 10 am, Chloe comes to our front porch and stares into our house until I open the door to let Rufus and Neena out to play. They wrestle and sniff, then come in to drink then nap. Repeat daily.

For some reason, Chloe loves to roll in poop. And for some reason, Neena thinks its ok to wrestle with a dog who is covered in stinky poop. Then SHE gets covered. SO gross.

This is her "punishment": A *BATH*!!!

Its farmers market season!

I LOVE growing season. Especially Farmer Paul Sarver's bounty. He has a wonder local organic farm. His produce is superb. His lettuce is Brayden's favorite food. :) Brayden and I left the house early this morning and headed to the farmers market. We bought spinach, two heads of lettuce and basil plants. Yes, I know basil is easy to grow. However, I began my herb garden seeds too early this year and it failed. I had lovely sprouts, but they were too long and fragile. Tomorrow we'll replant them into a large container on the back deck. After the market, Brayden rollerbladed and I jogged along with him around both tracks. We had a great morning together.

My helper for washing and storing, Rylan
He helped to wash the lettuce and spinach
And spin the excess water out

I was happy to use my new salad spinner I bought over the winter. Its XOXO brand, I love it!

Our final product of clean, stored spinach and lettuce!
I like to use the green produce bags...yes, they do work.

First Slip-n-Slide Adventure!

We ran some errands yesterday after doing school, then stopped at Target to take advantage of their Slip-n-Slide sale :) This was their very first adventure on one. They loved it, and there were no injuries. An upcoming trip the the chiropractor maybe, but at least no ER visits.

And the rest of these pics just look painful.... I thought this was supposed to be fun?

Brayden's Game Tonight

He had a great game tonight!

Cheering on his teammates

Coming home

Safe on first!

He got his friend Donovan out, and he felt bad about that.

And a very close call....
but the first baseman dropped the ball
even though he tagged the base, he didn't have the ball
Can you see the look of disappointment on the first baseman's face, and relief on Bryan's face? He was first base coach tonight ;)

A catch!
Of course I missed some great photo ops- like when he caught a hot one on first base with his BARE right hand, and his last hit into right field.

Ry enjoyed riding his bike for the first time this year!

Cast Party Bonfire

A very nice family invited the entire cast and families/helpers of the cast to a bonfire party. It was such a nice time! I took a few pictures early in the evening so it appears fairly vacant, but there were about 80? people all together. The kids had a great time playing and eating, and I had a nice time mingling and chatting with fellow home schooling parents. I hope to get together with the other families again soon.

The boys enjoyed playing horseshoes

And playing on the tire swing
Badminton

There was SO much food! Hot dogs, potato salad, chips, dips, pretzels, salads, cookies, s'mores...

And the very nice bonfire!
